If you follow me on Twitter or if you are friends with me on Facebook, you’ll know that I’m going completely apeshit over She & Him‘s new album, Volume Two. Like, I’ve listened to just about nothing else since it started streaming on NPR. And, like, as soon as it’s finished, I just start it again. I know about 97% of the words, rhythms, and extras already and it hasn’t even officially hit stores (of course I found an illegal copy to tide me over, but also of course, I pre-ordered that shit!).
Their last album (Volume One, duh) was my favorite album of 2008 (if I still used MySpace, I’d link to that year’s Favorites! post… but who has a MySpace anymore?), and I had the chance to see them live that year as well (above pictures are from South by Southwest this year and, obviously, not mine). M. Ward dropped his pick at some point and I made one of the stage dudes give it to me after their set had finished. I still have it. Maybe I’ll meet him one day and he’ll find that story adorable, dump his wife, and propose to me – all almost instantly.
They’re currently on tour again, but I was too poor to buy tickets to the closest show :(. I’ll be seeing them at Coachella in less than a month, though, so I’m not too torn up about it. (Okay, I am torn up about it. Coachella is hot as frick and I’d like to see them as many times as possible! Yeah, the “hot as frick” part has nothing to do with anything, I’m just preparing myself to be angry the entire time I’m there.)
Um, I don’t know what else to say. I just fucking love them a lot, and it’s not because I find Matt Ward to be extremely attractive or because I want to be Zooey Deschanel when I grow up; I genuinely like the songs they create and the way in which they execute those songs. Plus, they’re pretty. I said it.

I. KNOW. I feel like such a gross lard when I watch this movie, but it’s so happy and adorable, that it makes me NOT want to be that way! Like, I feel like exercising afterward!
