who am i crushing on this week!

Up next: the final book has been written and released and now we’re all waiting for the final film (or films) to be filmed (har) and released; and then it’s all over :(
Why you crushin’?: I want to go back and figure out when I first started reading these books; it wasn’t long ago whatsoever. I finished the fifth and (so far for me, longest) book in a week. And I’m in school! And have a (sort of) life! I so wish I’d gotten into it sooner, but being the almost “lone reader” makes blasting through these that much sweeter. I missed Pottermania (though it still has bursts), and I get to enjoy it in a relaxed setting. Or something. Plus, it puts me in love with future Ginger of the Month, Rupert Grint.

so i totally started reading the books when pottermania started, back in about 1998 or 1999. once i got to book 3, i was bored, plus undergrad was kicking my butt. but then once the last book came out, i decided to catch up and read books 3-7 in a month. that’s insane. and rupert grint is just the tops. THE TOPS.
AMEN. I’m actually getting a little sad, as I’m nearing the end. What am I going to do with my life?!
i absolutely refused to like harry potter because at the time i worked with kids and they just would not shut up about it. it drove me nuts. then when SS came out on VHS (yes, VHS not DVD!) i bought it for the kids to watch (i know, i’m so nice.) i’m watching SS with the kids and i’m like, “why is he under the stairs? why are they being so mean to him? what’s going on!?” and the kids were like “just shut up & watch the movie.” and i did. and i’ve been in love with harry potter ever since then. i went out that night and bought the first 4 books, blew through those then had to wait (so painful) for the next book. so yeah, that’s the story of my love affair with harry potter. :)
That’s sort of how I felt! I didn’t like everyone talking about it all the time, and then I worked at Barnes & Noble and liked it less. And it was always the annoying people that unfed all over the place about it. But then when the last movie came out, I was like, “Oh, hay, Ron Weasley” and knew I had to read the books. Same thing with Twilight. I didn’t give an eff about it until I saw RPattz.
So, book publishers: if you want me to read your books, you must make a movie out of it starring a hot male actor.
