in which i, literally, judge a book by its cover.

Working at a bookstore was one of the best times in my life. I was surrounded by great literature, brilliant (sometimes) customers, and the sweet smells of old and new books. I miss browsing the shelves while off the clock – and on – and finding new favorite authors and finally getting into established ones I hadn’t looked into before. One mistake I’ve always made, though, is picking up and purchasing a book based solely on its looks. I have so many books that look great on the outside, but are pretty terrible inside – just like shitty people!

And that’s when I came across this site: bookcoverarchive.com. I’ve only made it through the first 500 covers, but I’ve already found so many books I’d like to read (or, at least, have), mainly because they look pretty.

That’s right, I’m a twenty-something female and have yet to read Jane Eyre. I’ll turn in my Girl Card on my way out.

  1. don’t feel bad. i haven’t read “Jane Eyre” either. let’s start a knitting book club! not a club where we knit books, because that’s just silly, but a club where we knit AND read books. holy crap, i’m a genius.

    1. Oh my gosh, I am totally, completely, sincerely into this idea. I’ve always wanted to learn to knit and I’ve always wanted to be in a bookclub!!
